Obsolescence Management

With over five billion parts and millions of records of procurement data, ILS gives new meaning to proactive

As the world’s largest and most active e-marketplace in the aerospace/defense industry, ILS is a powerful resource for proactive obsolescence management programs.

Commodity specialists and program engineers can use ILS to find alternative parts, hard-to-find parts, and parts no longer manufactured for lifetime or bridge buys. ILS provides worldwide supply and demand data to help analyze obsolescence risk. This data is available for a single part or for all the parts that comprise an end item, so program managers can quickly determine which parts may present obsolescence challenges.

Parts Database
Suppliers list over 5 billion parts for easy access by buyers. Buyers locate the key items they need and contact the seller directly.

MRO Database
Enter a part number, and you’ll have immediate access to companies approved to repair or overhaul your item.

Government Cross Reference
ILS provides access to 90 million records of Government procurement data taken from the Federal Logistics Information System (FLIS). ILS has organized this information with powerful indexes and logical search capabilities to make research a breeze. You can locate information using NSNs, NIINs, Alternate References, Item Names, Contract Numbers, CAGE and Source of Supply, and End Item Codes.

Using in-depth supply and demand statistics and, in some cases, pricing, ILS can help you assess the value of any parts listing or inventory you wish.

ILS Aftermarket AnalyzerSM
See the supply and demand for the most sought after parts in the aviation industry.

Airframe/Engine Analyzer
The ILS End Item Analyzer provides supply and demand data for all the parts that make up specific components, such as airframes, engines, or even entire aircraft. It includes the total number of requests by NSN for each month, the quantity, the number of sources of each NSN listed on ILS by month, MCRL information, U.S. Government Procurement History (where available) and ILS Quote History (where available).

Parts Statistics
One of the most powerful analytical tools available to the aviation industry. ILS Parts Statistics feature can show you how many times information has been requested on a specific part by end users and non-end users. It can highlight the number of companies in each category requesting information on a specific part, the quantity of that part number found within the database, and the number of companies showing stock.

Standing Order Inquiry
Whether you’re searching for a hard to find part or monitoring supply and demand for a part, SOI gives you the information you need, when you need it. Simply enter the parts you want to monitor and run the SOI report. ILS searches the Parts Availability database on a daily or weekly basis, and gives you an availability report for the parts you’ve entered.

Government Research Tool
The Government Research Tool (GRT) makes it easy to search for and analyze Government data! Get instant access to Government data files, including MCRL, ML-C, Technical Characteristics, Procurement History, AMDF, DODI&S, AFI&S, MRIL, and NHA.

Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA)
Subscribers use this option to locate suppliers listing the OEM part as well as suppliers listing the PMA part number. In addition, it shows the name and address of the PMA holder, approval dates, and model eligibility for the parts.
