ILS to offer additional sourcing through PMA cross-referenceMemphis, TN, February 7, 2005 – Inventory Locator Service,® LLC (ILS) announced today that it has cross-referenced its parts availability database of over 5 billion parts with Federal Aviation Administration Part Manufacturer Approval (PMA) data to enable subscribers to locate additional sources for parts. According to the FAA, a Parts Manufacturer Approval allows you to “produce and sell FAA approved aircraft parts that are eligible for installation on FAA type certificated aircraft.” This new PMA option enables subscribers who search for a specific part number to locate suppliers listing the OEM part as well as supplies listing the PMA part number. “This is great news for those looking to procure aviation parts,” says Bruce Langsen, president of ILS. “Now ILS can provide additional exposure for manufacturers and suppliers while providing additional sources for buyers.” In addition to showing suppliers with PMA parts in their inventory, the new feature shows the name and address of the PMA holder, approval dates and model eligibility for the parts. About ILS ILS subscribers include more than 300 air carriers, 60 government procurement sites, and over 700 repair facilities as well as ship owners, ship operators, ship managers, manufacturers, distributors, and re-sellers from around the world. Aviation and marine suppliers list over 5 billion parts on ILS databases, which are accessed over 45,000 times each business day. Today, ILS's services are used by over 15,000 subscribers in 78 countries to buy and sell aircraft and marine parts and equipment.
